Things to do in Mona Vale
Mona Vale has it all, with all the services and shopping that you would expect of the city, and the stunning beaches of a holiday town.
The beaches are the place to be, and are perfect for the surfer, swimmer and fisher. The majestic waters of Pittwater are close by and the surrounding National Parks are excellent for bushwalking and picnicking.
Climb to the top of Recreation Reserve for a stunning view over Mona Vale and Warriewood Beaches and the Pacific Ocean.

History of Mona Vale
Robert Campbell was given a land grant over what is now known as Mona Vale in 1814. Campbell apparently gave the suburb its name after the town of Mona Vale in Scotland.
Mona Vale is the administrative centre of the Upper Northern Beaches. The suburb houses the council chambers, high school and hospital that service the adjoining suburbs.

Mona Vale's beaches are the major drawcard of the suburb. Mona Vale beach is a long, thin stretch of sand ideal for swimming and surfing. At the northern end of the beach there is a beautiful lap pool and a children's pool.
Just to the north of Mona Vale Beach is The Basin, an idyllic, safe beach for swimming. Newport and Warriewood Beaches are also worth exploring in the area.

Mona Vale's main shopping strip caters for every taste. There are cafes, delis and an assortment of interesting home wares shops. A Coles supermarket is located in Pittwater Place, the local shopping mall, which contains 30 other shops and amenities.
Warringah Mall, a short distance away in Brookvale, is a large, regional shopping centre containing department stores, supermarkets, chain stores and speciality retail stores.

Mona Vale is an half an hour drive from Sydney's Central Business District and a 35 minute drive from Sydney Airport. Mona Vale is also the junction at which Metroad 3 and Metroad 8 meet, making it an easily accessible destination from the Central Coast, Hunter, or Sydney's West. Frequent buses services connect to the City, Manly, North Sydney and Neutral Bay.
