Things to do in Gold Coast

The Gold Coast offers a diverse range of things to do ranging from theme parks for the thrillseekers such as Dreamworld, Seaworld and Movieworld to the fabulous stretches of golden sandy beaches and clear blue waters. Take a walk through the spectacular Burleigh Headland and experience the scenic rainforest walk and even spot some of the many whales that frequent the waters or why not go for a picnic at the Mt. History of Gold Coast

In the late 1940's, Brisbane journalists called the coast, south of Brisbane, The Gold Coast as it was the place to buy and sell land in the postwar real estate boom. Development increased rapidly and the first high rise on the Gold Coast was located at Kinkabool and was built in 1959 at Surfers Paradise. In 1995, the Gold Coast was amalgamated with the hinterland and northern areas of the Albert Shire Council to form today's city of the Gold Coast.

The Gold Coast is famous for its fabulous beaches, with more than 40 patrolled beaches which stretches along 57 kilometres of coastline.
