Kuranda Villas is centrally located, one street back from the main street, within walking distance of all the attractions within the village. Skyrail and the Kuranda Scenic Railway is less than a 5 minute walk from the villa and pick-ups can be arranged.
The village is located in the rainforest 330 metres above sea level in the Cairns Highlands. The climate is cooler and less humid and just 25 km from Cairns up the scenic Kuranda Range Road with views overlooking the Great Barrier Reef. Kuranda was founded in 1876 and inhabited by the Djabugay aboriginal people. Tourism began in the area at the beginning of the twentieth century and became very popular in the 1960's with the "hippie" generation for it offered a fabulous location for their alternative lifestyle.
Kuranda is surrounded by World Heritage listed wet tropics rainforest with approximately 1,200 species of flowering plants, 800 of which are rainforest trees.
Villa 2 has three bedrooms and is comfortable, fully furnished and self-contained. Villa 2 sleeps up to 7 adults. The sleeping configuration consists of a queen size bed in the master bedroom with built-in wardrobe, two king single beds in the second bedroom, one king single bed in the third bedroom with built-in wardrobe, and a double sofa bed in the lounge area.
All linen, bedding and towels is supplied and there is a washing machine and dryer provided.
For families with very young children there is a portacot and highchair available, upon request. We also have a removable bed guard for young children who are sleeping in conventional beds.
Electric blankets are supplied in the cooler months of the year and a heater is located in the lounge area. Ceiling fans are located throughout the villa.
There is a full kitchen with all the necessary crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and pots and pans. We also supply extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt & pepper, locally grown tea and ground coffee, and sugar.
Complimentary Port is provided and guests who book two nights or more receive a bottle of Australian sparkling wine on arrival. There is a TV and DVD player, as well as a CD micro system for iPod.
There is a patio with BBQ and outdoor table and chairs in a private garden. There is a safe covered parking area and there are security screens on the windows and doors.
