Things to do in Brighton

Brighton plays host to a diverse range of activities and attractions. The water is always a popular attraction and visitors flock to Dendy Beach to view the colourful bathing boxes that line the foreshore. History of Brighton

Brighton was first settled by Europeans in 1840 and was named after the British town of the same name. Following European settlement, Brighton quickly became the playground of the rich and famous who came to the suburb to enjoy its enviable bayside location. Grand mansions and stately public buildings were constructed in the suburb, many of which remain today.

Brighton is accessible from Melbourne's CBD along the Nepean Highway or Beach Road which travels along the bay through St Kilda.
